I tell traditional stories drawn from a range of cultures.

 

2014 has seen my repertoire expand to include WW1 interactive and multisensory stories suitable for all ages.  This programme

works well as a four day residency and can be linked in with other WW1 school activities. Pupils are introduced to fascinating facts about life in the trenches as well as life back home.  I bring in a suitcase crammed with memorabilia and fascinating objects to be handled, including: helmets, a replica gas mask, a soldier's whistle, storm sounds, sandbag and postcards.

 

I can tell stories for many occasions and I can usually find stories to fit specific themes. Providing you give me enough preparation time I can also add in specific stories. 

 

I tell stories at Nursery, Primary and Secondary schools and I differentiate at each key stage.

 

Stories told to older children are generally more complex and layered and can be longer. Stories told to younger children are highly interactive and might include percussion, songs or finger puppets. Most stories are about 10-20 minutes duration. Storytelling can take place indoors or out of doors and can also take the form of a story walk.
